About Brian Pier

A native of Wisconsin, Brian Pier was born in the town of Kenosha in 1953.

He is primarily self taught but strongly influenced by many of the 19th and early 20th century masters. Brian studies and paints every day, working in oil and uses a limited palette. His passion is painting en plein aire and he continually finds drama in the landscapes and people that he paints. His paintings are all about the changing light and the way that it plays on the natural beauty that surrounds him.
